Tokyo Skytree tickets start at ¥1,800 for an adult on the Tembo Deck (350m) and ¥3,000 for the combo ticket that adds the Tembo Galleria (450m). Since 1 April 2026 the price changes by date, up to ¥3,600 and ¥4,800 respectively on the busiest days, so the only way to know your exact fare is to pick a date on the official booking site.
Buy online and you skip the ticket queue and the ¥500 on-site fee. Below: what each ticket actually gets you, whether the 450m upgrade is worth it, what happened to the old weekday/weekend and Fast Skytree prices, the best time slot, and the quickest way in from Oshiage.

How much are Tokyo Skytree tickets in 2026?
Official prices for online and convenience-store tickets. Skytree uses two age bands only: adults are 15 and over, children 6–14. Ages 5 and under go free.
| Ticket | What’s included | Adult (15+) | Child (6–14) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tembo Deck | Floors 340, 345 and 350 | ¥1,800–¥3,600 | From ¥900 |
| Combo ticket | Tembo Deck + Tembo Galleria (445–450) | ¥3,000–¥4,800 | From ¥1,500 |
| Tembo Galleria add-on | Floors 445–450, bought at machines on the Tembo Deck | ¥1,400 | 700 日圓 |
| On-site surcharge | Deck or combo bought at the 4F counter or machines | +¥500 per ticket | +¥500 per ticket |
The low ends are the official “from” prices on the Skytree ticket page and match the figures Sumida City published for the April 2026 change. The top ends come from operator Tobu Railway’s notice on the new system. Children’s fares are also shown as “from” prices, so expect them to vary by date too.
💡 Japan Pro Tip: open the online calendar and check a few dates either side of your plan. A one-day shift, say a Tuesday instead of a Saturday, can be the difference between the bottom and the top of the range.
Why is the Skytree price different every day?
From 1 April 2026, Skytree dropped its old grid of weekday, weekend/holiday, advance and same-day prices. Each date now has its own fare, so Tobu’s advice is simply to check the price for your day before you go.
This matters because a lot of English-language guides still quote the pre-2026 structure (¥2,100 weekday, ¥2,300 weekend and so on). Those numbers are out of date. If a blog or reseller shows a single flat price, treat it as a guide only.
What hasn’t changed: the counter still costs more, adding ¥500 on top of that day’s rate.
Tembo Deck or Tembo Galleria: is the 450m upgrade worth it?
The Tembo Deck is three floors. Floor 350 is the main viewing level with SKYTREE CAFE 350 and the Round Theater (the windows double as a projection screen at night). Floor 345 has Sky Restaurant 634, a SKYTREE SHOP and a post box. Floor 340 has the glass floor and another café.
The Tembo Galleria is a separate lift ride up. You take the Tembo Shuttle from Floor 350 to Floor 445, then walk a glass-walled tube that slopes up to Floor 450. The top is Sorakara Point at 451.2m, the highest spot visitors can reach. There’s no direct lift from the ground: you always go through the Deck first.
Is it worth it? The view is the same city from 100m higher, so for many people the Deck is enough. The Galleria earns its money on the walk itself: a sloping glass tube with the city on every side, which feels nothing like standing at a window. Our rule of thumb:
- First visit, clear day: get the combo.
- Hazy or rainy day: Deck only. You can still decide upstairs.
- Tight budget: Deck only. Floor 350 already gets you the Kanto Plain views on a good day.
At both ends of the price range, the combo is ¥200 cheaper than buying the Deck and adding the Galleria later (¥3,000 vs ¥3,200 at the bottom; ¥4,800 vs ¥5,000 at the top). Buying upstairs is the flexible choice, but Galleria sales stop when it gets crowded, so the add-on isn’t guaranteed.
Do you need to book Tokyo Skytree tickets in advance?
You don’t have to, but you should. Three reasons, all from the official site:
- On busy days the 4F ticket counter can stop selling tickets altogether.
- Counter and machine tickets cost ¥500 more each.
- Online tickets go straight to the pre-purchase lane on 4F, where you show the QR code on your phone.
How to buy: the official online store (English), or a 7-Eleven multi-copy machine in Japan. Online you pay by Visa, Mastercard, JCB, American Express or Diners Club, or with PayPay, WeChat Pay or Alipay. No cash online; if you want to pay cash in advance, the 7-Eleven machine is the official route.
How far ahead: the official site doesn’t publish a fixed sales window for standard Deck and combo tickets, so ignore the old “30 days ahead” rule you’ll see quoted. The Night View ticket is the exception: it goes on sale up to three months in advance.
Time slots: you choose a date and time when booking. Once you’re in, there’s no time limit on your stay. If you’re late, you can still enter on your booked date, but you join the back of the queue staff direct you to.
Changes and cancellations (official online store):
| When you cancel | Fee |
|---|---|
| Within 59 minutes of buying | 免費 |
| 31 or more days before your visit | 免費 |
| 30 days before, up to your entry time | 20% |
| After your entry time | 100% (no cancellation) |
You can’t change the date, time or ticket type. You cancel and rebuy. Cancellations are done on the booking site’s (LINKTIVITY) “my page”, not by phone or email. Several Enjoy Pack bundles can’t be cancelled at all once bought: the Sumida Aquarium, teamLab Planets, 24-hour Tokyo Subway Ticket, Sky Hop Bus, Keikyu discount-ticket and JR East Pass plans.
Klook, KKday and GetYourGuide also sell Skytree entry, on their own cancellation terms. The official store is the simplest option.
Is there still a Fast Skytree ticket?
No. The official FAQ now states plainly: “We do not offer priority admission.” The old Fast Skytree ticket, a pricier skip-the-line option for visitors from abroad, is no longer listed among the ticket types.
The nearest thing to a fast track is an online timed ticket, which skips the ticket queue. Lift queues apply to everyone.
Which Tokyo Skytree ticket should you buy?
1. Tembo Deck ticket (Standard entry)
The Lowdown: Entry to Floors 340, 345 and 350. Glass floor, cafés, shop and restaurant level included. The best value if you’re only going up once.
Where: 4F main entrance, Tokyo Skytree Town, 1-1-2 Oshiage, Sumida-ku.
The Vibe: Busy, family-friendly, lots of window space on Floor 350.
Price: Adults ¥1,800–¥3,600 depending on date; children from ¥900.
Official Link: Tokyo Skytree tickets
💡 Japan Pro Tip: don’t leave without standing on the glass floor on Floor 340. Do the Floor 350 windows first, then work your way down.
2. Combo ticket (Both decks)
The Lowdown: Tembo Deck plus the Tembo Galleria, booked as one timed ticket. Guarantees you the 450m level even on days when upstairs sales get cut.
Where: Same 4F entrance; Galleria access via the Tembo Shuttle from Floor 350.
The Vibe: Smaller and more of an experience than a viewpoint; the glass ramp is the highlight.
Price: Adults ¥3,000–¥4,800; children from ¥1,500.
Official Link: Buy the combo ticket
💡 Japan Pro Tip: re-entry to the Galleria isn’t allowed, so do your photos up top before heading back down to 350.
3. Tembo Galleria add-on (Upgrade on the day)
The Lowdown: Only sold on the day to people already holding a Tembo Deck ticket, from the ticket machines inside the Tembo Deck. No ¥500 on-site fee applies.
Where: Ticket machines on the Tembo Deck, Floor 350.
The Vibe: The decide-when-you-see-the-weather option.
Price: Adults ¥1,400; children ¥700.
Official Link: Tembo Galleria floor guide
💡 Japan Pro Tip: look out of the Floor 350 windows first. If the horizon is grey, save the ¥1,400.
4. Night View ticket (Evening, adults only)
The Lowdown: Tembo Deck entry after 6pm plus one alcoholic drink at SKYTREE CAFE 350, with a stop at the Floor 340 glass floor on the way out. Under-20s can’t buy it. On sale up to three months ahead.
Where: Tembo Deck, timed entry after 18:00.
The Vibe: Date night with a city full of lights below.
Price: From ¥2,400 (adult).
Official Link: Night View ticket
💡 Japan Pro Tip: the drink voucher is for SKYTREE CAFE 350, so redeem it before you head down to the glass floor.
5. Morning View ticket (Early visit with café menu)
The Lowdown: Tembo Deck entry with a food and soft-drink voucher for SKYTREE CAFE 350. Skytree says mornings are usually less crowded than afternoons.
Where: Tembo Deck, Floor 350.
The Vibe: Calmer, clearer light, breakfast with a view.
Price: From ¥2,500 (adult); from ¥1,700 (child).
Official Link: Morning View ticket
💡 Japan Pro Tip: pair it with Asakusa. Do Skytree first while it’s quiet, then ride the Tobu line one stop (about 3 minutes) for Senso-ji and lunch.
6. Skytree Enjoy Pack (Bundles)
The Lowdown: Skytree entry bundled with another attraction or transport. Advance purchase only: you can’t buy a pack at the 4F counter on the day. Most packs, including the aquarium, teamLab and subway-ticket plans, can’t be cancelled, so only book once plans are fixed.
Where: Official online store.
The Vibe: Saves a separate booking, not always a big saving.
Price: Sumida Aquarium plan from ¥4,000; 24-hour Tokyo Subway Ticket plan from ¥2,350; Skytree Shuttle Haneda Airport Line plan from ¥3,050; teamLab Planets TOKYO DMM plan from ¥7,100.
Official Link: Skytree Enjoy Pack
💡 Japan Pro Tip: compare the pack price with the same day’s Skytree fare plus the other ticket bought separately. Because Skytree prices move by date, the saving changes too.

Sunset, night or morning: when should you go up Skytree?
Short answer: book a slot that lands you upstairs 30–45 minutes before sunset, then stay for the lights.
- Opening hours: in October and November 2026 the official calendar shows 10:00–22:00 on weekdays (last admission 21:00) but only 10:00–20:30 on most Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays (last admission 19:30). A few dates run longer, such as 9:00–22:30 on Saturday 21 November. Last admission is always one hour before closing, so check the official calendar for your date.
- Sunset: the same calendar lists sunset for each date. On 19 October 2026 it was 17:01. Autumn and winter sunsets fall comfortably inside opening hours.
- Quietest times: the official crowd forecast flags first thing in the morning, weekday afternoons and the last stretch before closing as calmer. It warns of heavier crowds during Golden Week, spring break and New Year.
- Tower lighting: the tower’s own lighting usually starts around 17:45 and runs to midnight, rotating between the regular designs Iki (pale blue) and Miyabi (purple), plus seasonal schemes. You see these from the ground, not from the deck, so look up as you leave.
- Events in late 2026: “DISCOVER AUTUMN” and the Chiikawa collaboration run to 31 October 2026; “TOKYO SKYTREE Dream Christmas 2026” runs 5 November–25 December 2026.
If price matters more than the golden hour, compare a weekday opening slot with your sunset date. Busy dates cost more under the daily pricing, and weekend evenings are also shorter: with a 20:30 close, a Saturday sunset slot leaves you about two hours of night views rather than four.
How long does a Skytree visit take, from 4F entry to 5F exit?
There’s no time limit once you’re in. As a planning estimate, we’d allow about an hour for the Tembo Deck alone and closer to 90 minutes with the Galleria, plus queueing for lifts at peak times. Add more if you’re eating at Sky Restaurant 634 on Floor 345. It needs a separate table booking on top of a Tembo Deck ticket, and its lunch and dinner start times are listed on the official daily calendar.
You exit on 5F, which has another SKYTREE SHOP, LOOK UP CAFE and a currency exchange.
How do you get to Tokyo Skytree?
The tower sits on top of two stations: Tokyo Skytree Station (Tobu Skytree Line) and Oshiage (Skytree-mae) Station (Hanzomon, Toei Asakusa and Keisei lines). Tickets are checked at the 4F main entrance, not at ground level.
| 出發地 | Route (official) | 時間 |
|---|---|---|
| 淺草站 | Tobu Skytree Line to Tokyo Skytree Station | about 3 min |
| Ueno | Ginza Line to Asakusa (5 min), then Tobu Skytree Line (3 min) | about 8 min plus transfer |
| 東京站 | JR Sobu Line Rapid to Kinshicho (8 min), then Hanzomon Line to Oshiage (3 min) | about 11 min plus transfer |
| Shinagawa | Keikyu or Toei Asakusa Line to Oshiage | about 25 min |
| Haneda Airport | Keikyu or Toei Asakusa Line to Oshiage | about 39 min |
| Narita Airport | Keisei Narita Sky Access Line to Oshiage | about 49 min |
From Oshiage (about 7 minutes to the entrance): you start on B3F. Go through the ticket gate and ride the escalators all the way up to 4F. Walk straight a short way, then turn right down the corridor to the Main Entrance. Step-free option: turn left after the gate to the lift hall and take a lift to 4F.
From Tokyo Skytree Station (about 6 minutes from the West Exit, 7 from the East Exit): take the escalator from the ground floor up to 4F, step outside and turn left. The Main Entrance is right there.
Both lines take IC cards, so tap in with Suica or PASMO. Read our IC 卡指南 if you haven’t got one yet.

What else is there to do at Tokyo Skytree Town?
Skytree Town is a whole complex, so it’s easy to turn a 90-minute visit into a half day.
- Tokyo Solamachi: the shopping and dining mall at the base. Good for a rainy afternoon; see our rainy day Tokyo ideas.
- Sumida Aquarium: inside Skytree Town, with exhibits on its 5F and 6F. Its official site recommends buying online to skip the queue, or bundle it with Skytree in the Enjoy Pack.
- Konica Minolta Planetarium “TENKU”: also in Skytree Town, and sold as an Enjoy Pack plan.
- Asakusa: one stop and three minutes away on the Tobu line, which makes Senso-ji in the morning and Skytree at sunset an easy pairing. Our 淺草指南 covers the rest.
Is Tokyo Skytree worth it, or should you pick Tokyo Tower or Shibuya Sky?
Yes, if height is the point. Skytree is the world’s tallest free-standing broadcasting tower at 634m, and its 350m and 450m decks are far higher than anything else you can visit in Tokyo.
| Tokyo Skytree | Tokyo Tower | Shibuya Sky | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Viewing height | 350m and 450m | 150m (Main Deck) and 250m (Top Deck Tour) | Rooftop of 47-storey Shibuya Scramble Square |
| Setting | Indoor, glass-walled | Indoor | Open-air rooftop |
| 最適合買 | Maximum height, big-sky panoramas, Asakusa pairing | Classic red-tower look, central location | Sunset photos, Shibuya crossing area |
| Watch out for | So high the city can look flat | Lower viewpoint | Outdoor deck depends on the weather |
Skytree is in the east of the city, so it fits days built around Asakusa, Ueno or Ryogoku. Shibuya Sky suits a west-side day; see our Shibuya Sky tickets guide for that comparison from the other side. Tokyo Tower’s own appeal is that you look at it as much as from it.
The one honest downside: from 350m up, Tokyo can feel like a model rather than a city. If you want to see individual streets and neon, a lower deck at night does that better.
Book your Tokyo Skytree tickets
Pick your date on the official store, check where it sits in the ¥1,800–¥3,600 range, and lock in a slot just before sunset. Then plan the rest of your east Tokyo day around it: Asakusa in the morning, Skytree in the evening. Need help fitting it into a wider trip, or want tours and dining booked in English? Tokyo Skytree tickets FAQ
How much are Tokyo Skytree tickets?
An adult (15+) Tembo Deck (350m) ticket costs ¥1,800–¥3,600 and the combo with the Tembo Galleria (450m) costs ¥3,000–¥4,800, depending on the date. Children aged 6–14 start at ¥900 and ¥1,500; ages 5 and under are free. Buying at the 4F counter adds ¥500 per ticket.
Do I need to book Tokyo Skytree tickets in advance?
It isn’t required, but it is recommended. Online tickets avoid the ¥500 on-site fee and the ticket queue, and on busy days the counter may stop selling tickets.
Is the Tembo Galleria worth it?
On a clear first visit, yes: the sloping glass corridor from Floor 445 to 450 is the most distinctive part of Skytree. On a hazy day the Tembo Deck alone is enough, and you can add the Galleria on Floor 350 for ¥1,400 if sales are open.
Is there a Fast Skytree ticket?
No. Skytree’s official FAQ says it does not offer priority admission. An online timed ticket lets you skip the ticket-buying queue.
What are Tokyo Skytree’s opening hours?
Hours vary by date. In October and November 2026 the decks open 10:00–22:00 on weekdays and usually 10:00–20:30 on weekends and public holidays, with last admission one hour before closing. Check the official calendar for your date.
Can I cancel or change a Tokyo Skytree ticket?
Dates, times and ticket types can’t be changed, so you cancel and rebuy. Cancelling is free within 59 minutes of purchase or 31+ days ahead, 20% from 30 days before until entry time, and not possible after your entry time.
How do I get to Tokyo Skytree?
Take the Tobu Skytree Line to Tokyo Skytree Station (about 3 minutes from Asakusa) or the Hanzomon, Toei Asakusa or Keisei lines to Oshiage. The ticket entrance is on 4F, about 6–7 minutes’ walk from either station’s gates.
